Sofia Architecture Week (November 26- December 2)

Sofia Architecture Week (November 26- December 2) is an annual international festival of architecture and in 2011 celebrated a fifth anniversary edition. It started as a two-day conference in September 2008, and became a week-long platform to meet and exchange ideas in architecture, interior, landscape and urban environment. The main purpose of the event is to bring together broad public for a professional debate on sharing, applying and initiating sustainable architectural and social practices. The intense and varied program includes presentations, exhibitions, discussions, workshops, screenings and interventions in urban areas, as well as creative workshops for the kids.

Each year Sofia Architecture Week presents trends in contemporary architecture with a focus on a specific topic – in 2012 it is the interaction between culture and architecture in the context of the application of Sofia for European Capital of Culture in 2019. Participants and audience of the festival will be invited to monitor, investigate and model the relationships between spaces for culture and their authors, users, managers, public and creative content.
